Disney Discounts for RSEA Members

Walt Disney World Discount Vacations are available to RSEA members. Discounts are for Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Sea World, Aquatica, all of the water parks, Medieval Times, Arabian Nights, Holly Land, Ripley’s and many other entertainment places in Orlando, Florida.

There are also discounts for vacation pool homes near Disney World, and for rooms at Best Western inside Disney World.

Personal Emergency Response System Offers
Discounted Rate to RSEA Members

RSEA members can receive a discounted monthly rate for Acadian On Call, a monitoring service for emergency assistance. The discounted rate of $27.00 a month includes the equipment and the monitoring fee. Members do not purchase the equipment. It is returned to the company after the service is terminated.

Acadian On Call is a division of Acadian Ambulance Service, Inc. based in Lafayette, LA. There is a one-time installation fee of $25.00 if a company technician installs and tests the unit. If the subscriber installs and tests the unit, the fee is $10.00. A company representative stated that the unit is simple to install, similar to a phone answering machine.

RSEA Monthly Board Meetings

The RSEA Board of Directors monthly meeting is open to all interested members. It is held on the third Thursday of each month (except September and December) at 1 PM at the Lamar Senior Activity Center, 2874 Shoal Crest in Austin. This is just east of the intersection of North Lamar Blvd. and 29th Street. It is best to confirm a meeting you want to attend with the RSEA office.

Who can join RSEA?

• Full membership - all retired state employees and all who receive a monthly annuity from the Employees Retirement System of Texas as well as the spouse or beneficiary of a deceased retired State employee
• Associate membership - the spouse or beneficiary of a living member of RSEA as well as other state employees who are contributing to the State Employees' Retirement System.
• Honorary/Commemorative membership - conferred by the Board of Directors by resolution to recognize special contributions by individuals to the mission and goals of RSEA.
• Auxiliary membership - can be offered to any individual, business entity or interested party based on criteria, benefits and dues established by the Board of Directors.
