OUR VOICE

RSEA's voice is only as strong as the total of our membership. We need you to help make the Association stronger and more effective by joining today.

WHY RSEA?

The Retired State Employees Association [of Texas] Board of Directors, on November 5, 2005, approved the following revised statement of the Association's mission and goals. It is in concert with the purpose stated in the Association's Articles of Incorporation and reflects an expansion of the organization's intent to be more proactive for the interests of retired state employees.

MISSION:

The Retired State Employees Association (RSEA) was organized to be the voice for retirees of the State of Texas who have served as elected officials and employees and for their dependents and beneficiaries as well. By promoting, advancing, and defending the rights and interests in the state's retirement and benefit programs, the RSEA strives to enhance and improve the retirement status, benefits, morale and general welfare of retirees.

GOALS:

·        To be an effective non-partisan force for all current and future State of Texas retirees in dealing with the Employees Retirement System, as well as the Legislative and Executive branches of Texas State Government.

·        To inform and educate the RSEA members, non-member retirees, active employees and the general public concerning state employees' retirement, benefits, legislation and/or policies and actions of their state legislators.

·        To communicate with the RSEA membership in an effective and timely manner via newsletters, electronic correspondence, meetings and other means as appropriate.

·        To coordinate with other organizations on issues of common interest and concern to the RSEA members.
