Bill Hamilton retired from the Office of Court Administration (OCA) in 2002 as Deputy Director for Finance. His state service began in 1973 as a budget analyst in Governor Dolph Briscoe’s Governor’s Budget Office, continuing through Governor Bill Clements’ first gubernatorial term, and ending in 1986 as Governor Mark White's Budget Director. His state service continued in Comptroller Bob Bullock’s Economic Analysis Center (EAC), then in the Texas Education Agency’s various Commissioner’s Offices during the gubernatorial terms of governors Clements (second term), Ann Richards, and George W. Bush.

Bill’s last six years in state service at OCA were in support of the state judiciary’s appropriations, financial management improvements, and technology development, all in support of the Supreme Court, Court of Criminal Appeals, and the state’s 14 appellate courts and district courts statewide.

Bill was first elected to the Board of Directors of the Retired State Employees Association in 2009, serving a term as RSEA Treasurer. He has served as RSEA President since 2010.

Throughout his retirement, Bill has continued his public service interests in various leadership roles on numerous international, national, state, and local non-profit organizations.
